Getting started with a project on Mars

Hello. I am a homeschooling parent with a 6th grader, who would like to do a science fair project on Mars. Obviously, we cannot send our own rover, but we did find the Mars Education Program at Arizona State which will give us some sort of access to Mars orbiter images. We need to start background research on: What sort of questions can be answered with these types of images and how, and we need to form a science question. I am downloading a bunch of files from the ASU website, but would like to find some other resources as well.
Thank you for any leads.
Janet

Hi Janet,
Well, I found one website that might help you figure out a question for the project:
http://coolcosmos.ipac.caltech.edu/cosm ... mars.shtml
It gives you a list of questions about Mars and if you click on one, it would give you a short answer to the question.
Of course, the student would do more research based on that. But hopefully, it can give you an idea.
As for the actual project, I'm assuming that you might have gotten the list of activities ASU
offers that may be used as a basis for a science fair project. I think this will be the most helpful because it
organizes everything out for you.

I hope this helps!
