Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I am helping a team of 2 students doing a science project and one of them is visiting Asia for a vacation. They wanted to do something that they can compare when one is in Asia and other in U.S. I suggested astronomy project, but wanted to see what are other things the students can do. They are in 6th grade. I had earlier posted this at the Physical science section as well , but wanted to see if there is any Earth or Life science experiments they can do.
