mung bean project

My current experimental design is to see whether mung beans can grow faster with their skin peeled off. I'm not sure whether this would be a good experiment, but I'm having a hard time coming up with anything else. This project is due in a few days (we were only given a week to finish, but hopefully my class can get our teacher to extend the deadline).
Any ideas? Thank you!

Hi diamond_star,
Have you done any research regarding mung bean growth? The best place to start is with some research, to see whether your question has been addressed by others. At first glance, your question seems like an interesting one. Make sure that you design your experiment so that the only condition that varies between your control (skin on) and experimental (skin peeled) group is the presence or absence of the skin. All other conditions (temperature, moisture, type of container, etc.) should be exactly the same between your two groups. A quick Google search for "growing mung beans" will help you find out the best conditions for growing mung beans, and you can use those for both groups.
Let us know if you have more questions.
Good luck!
