Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

hello experts,
i'm in immense pressure forged by my teachers to accomplish the project on "
to detect the presence of alcoholic group in cough syrups".this chemistry project is based on the detection of functional group 'alcohol' through various tests. i have performed three tests:
a) Sodium metal test
b) Ester test
c) cerric ammonium test

I have used 4 cough syrups:
i)Rx codylex linctus
ii) Drosera (homeopathic)
iii) Benadryl
iv)Diphenhydramine (DE-DE Syrup)

Now, i want the 'theory' related to the cough syrups and content of alcohol in them as an 'INTRODUCTION' of my project.
Then, my 2nd requirement is related to create an 'OBSERVATION TABLE'. as i live in New Delhi, INDIA, so i request you to kindly provide me the necessary material according to the format at your earliest and oblige.
