I apologize for the delay in responding to your inquiry. This is a great project idea, but you are going to have to work quickly to complete a project by the 17th.

Does your project require doing an experiment?

Here is information from the Science Buddies website on doing science projects. You will have to go through all of the sections quickly to complete your project, but try to start at the beginning.

What are you thinking about doing as a project? One possibility is to do a behavior project and do a survey that will test people’s attitudes about eating earthworms. Or, you could cook up an earthworm dish and test people’s reaction to the idea of eating it. Since this is a science fair project, you should know that you don’t need approval to do an experiment with invertebrate animals like earthworms, but you do need to read the following information on working with human subjects. At a minimum, you will at least need to have each participant complete an informed consent form.

Another possibility is to save this project for next year, since it’s such a good idea, and look through the Science Buddies website to look for another project that can be completed in a day or two using common materials.
