Would it be possible for an eighth grader to build their own centrafuge adequate to determine density of particulates in a fluid? If yes, can anyone direct me to a source of instructions? If not, is there another way to determine a value of density in number values? thx

Sure, you can build your own centrifuge. Just Google "home built centrifuge". You'll see lots of ideas.

Some designs may not enable you to investigate certain combinations of liquids and solids because they may not be able to generate enough force to separate the particles. But any centrifuge will be able to separate particles from some mixtures of solid and liquid.

Have fun!
