Science Buddies: "Ask an Expert"

I couldn't get ahold of anybody to interview so I thought I might post my project and list some questions for someone to answer.


My project is testing the effects of chemical pesticides on pea plants and measuring various things, such as hight of tallest stock of each plant, rate of growth in days, and measuring the weight of each plant

Here are some questions that I need answered (plus it wouldn't hurt to leave some information on pea plants or chemical pesticides )

1. When did people start to use chem. pesticides a lot (years) and where. (majority)
2. When did they come out with the idea of chem. pesticides.
3. When are pea plants grown. (time of year)
4. What conditions are pea plants grown in.

I would appreciate if these questions were answered and maybe more information.

While Wikipedia and About.com are not considered reputable sources of information for science projects, they are great places to start. From there, you can look for official references that you can include in your bibliography.
