If you just need a salt water solution that approximates the saline content of sea water, then some distilled water with disolved sea salt to the right ratio should do the trick. The SciBud project, "how salty is the sea" @
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p009.shtml
has information about the salinity of the ocean...about 30-35 parts per thousand (ppt). This means that for ever one liter of water, there would be about 30-35 grams of salt dissolved in solution.
If you need more than just the salt found in sea water, organic and inorganic particles, then thats a bit more tricky.
Hope this helps,
TheBorg

The process mainly depends on the percent of salt, or the ratio of salt to water, which can be low. If you prefer a quick method for a saline solution, boil water (about two cups' worth) for five minutes, and then add salt (about 1 teaspoon). Dissolve it by stirring, while letting the solution cool to 25°C, or room temperature. That should do the trick! Write back if you have any more questions. Otherwise, have fun with the project that you're doing and good luck!
