Hello degreeofawsumness,

Yes, you can certainly generate electricity from rainwater. Using the gravitational energy of water is one of the oldest ways of obtaining energy that we have.

You could store water up at the eave of a house and let it run down through a waterwheel. Of course, the water in lakes and rivers is just rain trapped the same way. You could also use it.

Another experimenter is working on a waterwheel right now. Look at https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... =29&t=9556. You will also find many discussions of building waterwheels in the Science Buddies Project Ideas and by searching the forums.

Good luck, WW
