Salt Bridge pH wacky

When I try to measure the pH of my solutions, the anode shoots up to 14.397 and the the cathode down to -6.088. Obviously this is not right and I'm not sure what's wrong. Plus they stay constant, not changing at all. :(

Hello Johnny_Doherty,

I'm assuming that you are working on the project described at this link:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p087.shtml

From your description it appears that something is wrong with your pH meter. Do you have a calibration solution that you can use to make sure your pH meter is working properly?

I hope this helps. Please ask again if you have more questions.

A. Norman
