I agree with geoffbruton...but also...fires needs oxygen like human beings need it. You can suffocate fire as well. Go to the USDA Forest Service, they have many key topics on fire on their site.

You might try a local pet store or company that sells water fleas. You could collect it from a pond or trough but you might collect many different species. Also, pond or trough fleas may have diseases that could possibly affect your experiment. Good Luck!
