Our Mission
Science Buddies mission is to inspire and educate students of all ages with hands-on STEM explorations that reflect their unique personal interests. By providing highly personalized educational experiences, we drive student discovery, engagement, and learning in STEM subjects.
Our vision is to develop high-quality scientist-authored explorations covering all key areas of STEM, from the classics to the cutting edge, in formats tailored for the needs of the audiences having the greatest potential to impact student STEM learning, students themselves, classroom teachers, informal educators, and parents. Free and open to everyone, we level the playing field, making STEM learning possible for students of all demographics.

Programs & Resources
Taking inspiration from the news, from the frontlines of university research, and from kids themselves, our staff scientists publish new content weekly. They often collaborate with experts at high tech companies, government labs and agencies (like NOAA and NASA) and top universities. These are just a few of the ways that Science Buddies provides fun, intellectually-stimulating, and cutting-edge science education resources. to K-12 audiences:
- Inspiring independent student STEM explorations with 1,300+ Project Ideas and Activities covering an array of topics from genetic engineering to space exploration.
- Developing NGSS aligned Lesson Plans to make quality hands-on explorations accessible for all educators.
- Running programs to deliver hands-on curriculum and supplies to underserved classrooms across the US.
- Connecting students with role models and mentors through online mentoring with Ask an Expert.
- Inspiring innovation through the development and management of annual engineering challenges.
- Building early awareness of STEM career tracks for all students with 162+ Career Profiles that are tied into our resources and show students how science is used in real-world careers.
