typically mass is conserved. So you should expect that the amount of product obtained is fairly equal to the amount of material put in making the product. However, if there are other compounds created during the chemical reaction, then you should know the chemical reaction equation. That would require a basic chemistry book and a periodic chart to determine the ratio of product produced and by product produced. Then you can kind of scale things. Did you try a google search to find an example?
