help! wind turbine help

hello, im building a wind turbine and I have the dc hobby motor and the proppelor but i cant get a voltage reader right now but do you know of anything around the house that is 3 volts. and what kind of miniature base should i build

HELP!!! its sunday and its due tommorow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi CTD123,

Your best bet is to use two ordinary flashlight batteries. (Like "AA" or "C" batteries). You can buy a plastic battery holder for them at an electronics store like radio shack, or you can make one yourself. You could probably probably get away with taping stripped wires to the battery ends to make a connection. You want to connect them like this:

(motor +)-------(+ battery - )--------(+ battery -)-------(motor -)

Not sure what you have in mind for the base. Something like carboard, tape, and plastic drinking straws might work. Since you've only got a few hours to work on it, household objects are probably your best bet.
