is it good enough?

Post by Nix »

I have decided to test the effects of weather on human emotions (actually focusing more on stress levels) but am very short for time and could find nothing else...
Here is an example of the survey i'll be sending around. Is it good enough? Can anybody give me some advice as to what i should add to make my survey's results a little more accurate asap?
Help would be much appreciated.

1. Would you say you are a generally pessimistic or optimistic person?

2. On average, how many hours do you spend outside per day?

3. In general, rate your stress level

4. Today, what is your stress level?

5. How much sleep did you get last night?

6. Do you have an unusually large amount of work due soon?

7. What words would you use to describe your mood today?
Relaxed Nervous

8. List any other factors that may be having a significant effect on your mood today.

Hi Nix-

Measuring human emotions is difficult to do, particularly on a survey. There are just too many variables that play into human emotions and they're notoriously hard to control. Isolating the effect that the weather might (or might not) have on human emotions will require a mountain of data and a lot of sophisticated statistical analysis - it's definitely not an easy short-term project.

I'm sure it's not what you want to hear, but you might want to consider changing your topic or at least your approach.

Ok, i understand, those thoughts went through my head as well, a year would've been a more appropriate time span.
But unfortunatley now i'm stuck as to what to do, do you have advice for me.
Are there simpler ways when it comes to testing stress levels? Or at least something else i could do in such a short time span?
So far everything i've come up with has failed.
In desperate need of help. :(
"thanks"
