Making Distilled Water
Does anybody know how to make distilled water out of tap water by using simple kitchen tools?

Hummm...my instinct would be no (I couldn't think of an easy/saft way to boil the water, collect the steam, and re-condense the vapor), but I did a google search just now and you can buy small-sized water distillers online (cost up to a few hundred bucks). I think my instinct is probably right, or else these guys wouldn't be selling their equipment for this kind of money. I am also not sure if you can buy DI water easily in stores. Keep in mind that de-ionized water is different from distilled water (you can google to see what I mean). If you know (or your parents/relatives/friends know) someone who works in a bio or chem lab, then chances are, you are in luck. Why don't you try your science teacher and see what he/she suggests (maybe you can even get some from your teacher
