the physics of rollercoasters

Post by candice »

The three aspects of physics that i'm focusing on relating to rollercoasters are newtons first law, centripetal acceleration and kinetic and potential energy.
I was thinking of builiding a rollercoaster for the practical part of it. any ideas on how to build it and any specific topic i must investigate about rollercoasters regarding to the gain in energy during their motion.

please help

Hi candice,

Check out http://www.physicsclassroom.com/Class/c ... U6L2b.html for a very good description of the physics of rollercoasters.

I'm sorry I don't have any ideas about building a rollercoaster.

Anyone else?
Cheers!

Dave
