Hi
Though your description is unclear, I assume your project is about Herbalism
Herbalism includes things that are and are not backed by research
Some examples backed by research:
Garlic
http://pubs.acs.org/subscribe/journals/ ... news4.html
Oregano
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 065609.htm
Sage
http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/20 ... 091846.htm

Ginger has not been scientifically verified to cure a cold
Ginger, Soy, Pomegranates, Green Tea, Shiitake Mushrooms, and Peppermint are all examples of traditional folk healing items, not backed by research.

Good luck!

Elderberry seems to be a hot commodity right now on store shelves and in some research journals for its antiviral properties. If you're interested, try an internet search (esp. Google Scholar) for "elderberry antiviral", "Sambucus nigra L." or "Sambucol".
You can also find some research articles on health effects of Shiitake mushrooms, green tea, and many other plant materials. Whether consumption of any of those will "heal" a serious medical condition is a different matter, of course.
Good luck!
