I am in the early stages of my project and am having trouble finding information on the production or analysis of soaps and detergents; polymer chemistry; petroleum. can someone help me find resources for this. thanks

Try putting "analysis of soaps and detergents", "polymer chemistry", and "petroleum" into a search engine. These will yield a lot of results; however, I can't help you narrow it down without knowing more about your specific area of interest.
