Determining Caffeine content in coffee drinks??

Post by dylan7uh8 »

I am a high school AP chemistry student, and we are trying to find a method for determining the caffeine content in coffee. I do have access to a fairly good lab, and we do have spectrophotometers. Thank you for any help.

here are links to purchase caffeine test strips: http://www.amazon.com/Instant-Caffeine- ... -2-catcorr

http://www.amazon.com/WaterSafe-Watersa ... -1-catcorr

I think that this is the easiest method for measuring caffeine levels. Other methods probably require expensive lab equipment and chemicals.

Let me know if you have any other questions or if you would like to know more about the other methods.

good luck,

I actually need an analytical method. Preferably using a spectrophotometer.
