Hi,
I volunteered in a sixth grade science classroom last year and they did a rpjecton hdronics. The plant they used was radishes, and I suspect that is yuur best bet for a fast growing plant.
Also check out this aite on Wisonsin Fast Plants:

Some other ideas:

Good Luck!

Hi,
i think you will need plants artificially selected to grow fast, like these: http://www.fastplants.org/. Note that Science Buddies does not endorse this website, and that this website is trying to get you to buy the plants they're showcasing. I believe corn also sprouts quickly, but it certainly would not grow to its full height in two weeks.

To add to my reply, please keep all of your posts in a single thread. In this case, the life sciences forum is the best forum for your question. I have thus moved your posts and merged the threads.

Hi Nana!
I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think that doing a plant project is the best decision for you. Even though your plant will probably grow in enough time, you won't have much time to set up an exhibit, write a paper, or compile your findings. Have you taken the topic survey wizard? It's really helpful and you can set a time limit that is more manageable.
Hope this helps! (I'm sorry if this sounds mean; I'm not trying to make fun of you or your ideas.)

P.S. This all depends on your assignment and your project. As I'm not an expert, there is a HUGE possibility that I'm wrong.

My daughter and I recently grew some peas we got from the museum. they grow on vines, which grow quickly. you might consider some type of vine.

Maybe you should try another topic. there are fast growing plants on this website, you can choose one you like or defnitely ask your teacher to assign a new topic for you.
