Need a mentor and access to Lab2 laboratory

Dear Sir:
My daughter wants to start a science project on effect of food preservative. According to her science instructor, her project will require her to work in a lab2 laboratory. We need some help to find the laboratory in our area (zip 95070) and a mentor that can provide her necessary guidance to work in the lab. Can you help to get her started on this? Thanks.

Unfortunately I have no information on the ;ocation of level2 containment labs in your area. My general advice is to focus on finding a mentor in a university or college near you and hope that they can either provide or point you to suitable lab facilities for your project.

Stanford offers a really good summer research program for talented high school students that I have great things about from past participants. Also check out the other colleges and universities near you, as well as the local science museums which sometimes offee limited lab work experiences. Your science teacjer also has access to the local science fair organization which endeavors to provide support to student research.
