I am doing a research project on solar ovens that is due Thursday morning (Dec 16) and need help with a few questions.
1. What design factors of a solar oven will significantly change the performance?
2. Can repositioning the oven in relation to the sun change how well the oven works, if so how?
3. Will the size of the oven affect the performance, why or why not?
4. How can you maximize the temperature of a solar oven?
5. Which geographic regions are best for the use a solar oven, and why?
6. Will a flat black pot cook faster than a shiny silver pot, why or why not?
7. Which is better, a conventional oven or a solar oven, considering price, time to
cook, level of skill required to operate, and reliability?
8. Can a solar oven work in a cold place with a lot of sunlight for example Alaska
in the summer, why or why not?
9. Can you use a solar oven indoors with a light bulb instead of sunlight, why or why not?
10. Is a solar oven an efficient way to cook three meals a day seven days a week, why or why not?
Thanks
Andrew

- Project Question: I have a few questions about designing solar ovens:
1. If you vary the design of a solar oven is there any significant change in the performance, if so what is it?
4. Will a flat black pot cook faster than a shiny silver pot, why or why not?
5. Which is better, a conventional oven or a solar oven, considering price, time to cook, level of skill required to operate, and reliability?
6 Can a solar oven work in a cold place with a lot of sunlight for example Alaska in the summer, why or why not? - Project Due Date: thursday, december 17 2009
