Hi,

I understand you are trying to do one of these Science Buddy projects:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p029.shtml

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p010.shtml

And you want to know about independent variables, dependent variables,, control experiments, and how to write a hypothesis. All these topics are covered in the the Science Buddies Project guide, plus answers to a whole host of questions you have not gotten to yet. Here is a link:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... l?From=Tab

I recommend reading through the whole guide before you start on your project. You need to start by asking the question you want to answer by doing the project. Your hypothesis is just your best guess as to the answer your project will give you. The guess does not need to be correct, and in many of the best experiments, it will not be. There are whole pages in the guide on how to identify independent and dependent variables, and what control experiments are.

I hope this gets you started. Have fun!
