3) what is the freezing point of 150mL vinegar with 1/2 tablespoon of salt/ sugar in it?
4) what is the freezing point of 150mL vinegar with 1 1/2 tablespoon of salt/ sugar in it?

thank you! :D

Hi,

You are asking about the colligate properties of water. Take a look at this Science Buddies project idea:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p049.shtml

Here is an explanation of freezing point depression:

http://www.chemistryexplained.com/Ce-Co ... rties.html

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freezing-point_depression

http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hb ... pt.html#c1

http://people.ucalgary.ca/~kmuldrew/cry ... ap6_1.html

http://www.woodrow.org/teachers/chemist ... /exp9.html

It should be obvious I can’t give you a numerical answer to your question because it depends on how concentrated the vinegar is, and the degree of dissociation into pure ions of your other solutes.

I hope this helps.

Have fun with the project!

Best regards,
