Hi,

This sounds like an interesting project. I'm not sure exactly what you need to know, but here is some information that may help. Here is a map of geothermal energy sources in the US:

Here are two websites that have various types of diagrams showing transfer of energy. The second site is specific for geothermal energy and includes a variety of diagrams:
