Hi,

Have you looked at the Science Buddies Project Idea Guide? You can use it to have it suggest ideas based on questions about your interests or you can browse ideas about chemistry:

https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... deas.shtml

When I was in high school I found the atomic number vs. specific heat capacity very interesting:

http://web.mit.edu/course/3/3.091/www3/pt/pert13.html

http://www.periodictable.com/Properties ... nHeat.html

Can you explain why it is what it is?

Best regards,

i have found results but nothing unique in the sense that everything has been done or to easy like finding density. i would need something like what my teacher made us do which was finding diameter of a zinc atom in which we had to remove the zinc from the galvanized metal then density and so forth.

Hi,

I am sorry to hear you are having trouble finding an eproject off-the-beaten-track enough for your AAP Chemistry class. May I offer a few more suggestions that are more on the exotic side for high school:

Look into the Hittorf method of measuring Transference Numbers:
http://books.google.com/books?id=TbcDvD ... &q&f=false

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/article ... df/147.pdf

http://books.google.com/books?id=IqoFUd ... &q&f=false

For a re[rint of the original paper see page 49 of this digitized book:

http://www.archive.org/stream/fundament ... 9/mode/1up

Here is an online textbook - see page 210 for a description of the Hittdorf method, page 205 on for background info:

http://realmic.net/documents/Recently%2 ... strom).pdf

Here is an experimental writeup on the topic:

http://www.phywe.co.kr/phywe/%ED%99%94% ... 060401.pdf

Another less well known idea is to measure the degree of dissociation of a weak acid in aqueous solution by measuring the conductance of solutions vs. concentration:

Otherwise, please use your own originality to come with the perfect idea for you.

Good luck on the project!
