Temperature and Viscosity of Crude Oil

Post by Divine_Dreamer »

I need some help on my science project:
My question is: "Does the temperature of water effect the viscosity of crude oil."
Any ideas on what I can do? :D

Hi,

Here is a Science Buddies project description on how to measure viscosity:

You should be able to modify their proceedure to your question. I would put the tube of oil in a large pot or tank of water heated to various temperatures to measure the viscosity vs. temperature.

Good luck on the project!
