- Project Question: I am doing Death of an Orange experiement. I'm having trouble keeping the water temperature on the stove at a constant 100 degrees F. Any ideas?

Hi, you can use a water bath to control and maintain the temperature of water.

Hey there,
You can also try using an oven by heating it to 100 degrees and then keeping it there...you can also use a stove by placing a vessel on top and putting water in it or something along those lines and use a thermometer to measure out 100 degrees and then maintain that temperature...

Usually liquid water will not get very much above 100 degrees. If the temperature increases more, it will vaporize. So boiling water is probably a good method.

Hello!
A bain marie like Michael said is a good idea!Also you could do a double boiler which is a bain marie.It's a pot inside another pot that is filled with water and it's over a flame and you can turn the knob to control the temperature.A hotplate could also function.Good luck!
