Hi, Im a sophmore this year in Lynbrook high school and I was wondering if I can get some help for looking for a topic for this science fair. My main goal is to basically enter the ISEF, but I do not really know the procedure and a topic I can do. I was thinking of doing: Does nature have an affect in the decomposition rate of rotting flesh? Will this be a doable and original topic for a science fair?

Thank you

Hi,

You sound like you have the germ of a really interesting project idea. Here is one Science Buddies Project Idea that seems to be in your area of interest:

This discussion thread from another student studying decomposition of hair has some interesting ideas of possible use to you:

For information on advanced science fairs look at these websites:

I believe the topic of your interest is very important in the field of forensic science. You may want to try to find a mentor in a local crime lab.

It sounds like you have germ of an idea for a really great project. I wish you great success and fun!
