This is the 1st time we are doing a science fair...I need a hypthosis for do potatoes regualte the formation of new roots

Your hypothesis should be something along these lines: I think potatoes do/do not control regulate the formation of new roots because....

I would suggest that you first do some research on to how potatoes form roots. You might want to look at this article on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Potato.
Be sure to learn about potatoes’ eyes; the eyes of potatoes are the parts of the plant that actually generate roots, these are the dark spots that you see on the surface of a potato.
