Papain

Post by iperelman »

Hello,
I am working with an experiment that involves papain. The papin that I acquired (at a supermarket) has a lot of salt, and I am afraid that it is interfering with my expirement. I don't know where I could get some salt free papein. A health store? Make it myself?
Thank you!

It would be helpful to know more about your experiment. If the salt(s) involved won't affect your results, there is no need to purify the papin. By knowing what you are trying to accomplish, the experts here maybe able to recommend a quick easy way to determine if salt(s) will affect your results.
