Tensile Tester help

Post by allykatd »

Hi I don't have access to a professional university tensile testing device for the continuation of my project so I was going to make a homemade apparatus but I don't know how to make the clamps and can I use a spring scale in the place of weights

Hi,
Can you tell us a little bit more about your project? What are you testing the tensile strength of?

Perhaps testing the strength using quarters as weights as described in this project would work? Scroll down to the "Testing Your Paper Strips" section: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... x&from=TSW
