Hello there!

Since your science fair project is about making the best cookies (a great project/idea!!), a "batch" in this sense means the number of cookies you make (or bake) at one time... So for example, you could say "I made a batch of cookies today!" which means you made some number of cookies today...
Just to clarify, a batch is not a specific number and can vary in number...
