My research paper and procedure for science fair are due next Tuesday, but I haven't figured out exactly what I'm doing yet. I already turned in the permission slip with my topic on it, and it's a little too late to start something completely different now. I was planning on doing something with bridges and compression and tension and that kind of a thing.
Do you have any good project ideas I could do with that? I haven't been able to think of a good project that's not something obvious or something that's already been done a lot. I need an actual project idea, not just something vague and I don't have much time. Please help me! Thank you.

Re: Science Deadline
Well I don't know a lot about bridges, but you could make this bridge http://www.pisymphony.com/toothpick/toothpick1.htm or some other kind of arch bridge out of tooth picks or some kind of wood. ( you would have to make two)
You could then find different ways to test compression on one bridge and tension on the other bridge.
So the question could be : Do arch bridges handle compression or tension better
Though the answer is tension , but there's an idea

Hello! If you are interested in bridges and compression, the following ScienceBuddies projects might interest you:

Even if you don't end up choosing either of them, they might give you inspiration for a different, more specific question! Good luck, and post any further questions you have!
