Hi, I'm a first year research student at my highschool. My hypothesis is as follows:
Given the strains of the plants Thlaspic Goesingense and Buxaceae, the cross-breeding of these two plants should yield a new strain that can uptake x percent more nickel than either original strain alone.
I'm not sure how to cross breed the plants Thalspic Goesingense and Buxaceae, or mustard plant and boxwood. If you are a botanist or a scientist of any field that knows how I should cross breed these two plants, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you!

Hi.
Since these plants are from different genera, cross breeding may not give you the results you expect.
These sites should help:
1. http://www.madsci.org/posts/archives/ma ... .Bt.r.html
(explains why this cross breeding may not work)
2. http://www.ag.uiuc.edu/%7Evista/html_pu ... breed.html
Good Luck.

Hi,
Another website you might look at is:
http://www.nal.usda.gov/Kids/plantbks.htm
Some of the books are likely too young for you, but I think you will something approrpriate for your age. Head to the library and check some out.
Hope you have a green thumb!
