I need know and have sources about how the direction and rate of the North american plate movement has affected the local climate now and over the last 600 million years? I must have sources!
I would like to know how it has the movement of the north american plate has caused major climate changes, eruptions caused by the plate movement that could have caused the climate changes, how a super volcano could be related to the movement.
I'm doing a project about volcanoes, climate change, plate tectonics.
And right now I'm doing my research and am very stuck on the question above!! Help will be greatly appreciated.
** Note - this only for the North American plate!

Hi,
This seems like a very interesting natural sciences project. I think something that might be helpful for you is to define the scope of your project a bit more -- what do you seek to accomplish? Are you aiming to pull from public geographical data sources, or are you trying to build a model of plate tectonics, etc.? The sources you are looking for will likely be from different peer reviewed journals depending on what sort of data you are looking for to start with.

Well I go to an alternative school and I was given the opportunity to make my own project, and it's more of a presentation. But what I was going to do was go more into depth about the super volcano and how it had effected the world.. but to do so I need to find more about the relation of climate change and the plate tectonics. It is very hard to find information on this!

Hi,
Google certainly doesn't hurt for sources for presentations of this sort, but there is also Google Scholar for more journal-based resources. I would start with those two, and maybe also search for other journals (maybe start with journals here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sc ... c_sciences) and just search for articles that are interesting to you and relevant to the presentation.
