Microbial Fuel Cell and Multimeter Reading

Post by anoop.vemulapalli.1 »

Hi,

I am currently working on the Microbial fuel cell project. My project is going great but I have a question.
1. I am collecting rich soil samples but my reading on my Multimeter are showing negatives, what can I do to change this and what is causing this to happen ?

Thanks

Have you tried switching the leads? Multimeters will sometimes give negative readings if the leads are not on the proper terminal. Let me know if that helps!

Thanks,
Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I have tried many times to switch leads and different Multimeter, but the reading is still negative.

Thanks

Hi there,

Jenny's suggestion was good, and it's great that you tried switching the leads. Have you also tried switching the channel? Sometimes the readings will be incorrect if your multimeter is on the wrong setting. Let us know if that helps...
