The Stroop Effect

Post by thekewstudent »

What is the science behind the stroop effect?

Why does your brain want to read the words and not identify the colors?

What part of the brain may this take place?

Could real life situations relate to the stroop effect at all?

Are their different parts of your brain that wish to read the words and not identify the colors; and vice versa?

How did John Ridley stroop stumble upon this effect?

Does age have anything to do with if you react well or badly to the stroop effect?

Hi Thekewstudent - Have you done background research related to the Stroop Effect?

There are Project Ideas on the Science Buddies site that deal with Stroop, and by reviewing the background information and checking out some of the bibliographic information, you will likely find answers to many of your questions. One to get you started is: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... p031.shtml

If your assignment is related to conducting an "interview," you'll find more information about the kinds of interview questions to ask in our Ask an Expert policy on interviews: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... =25&t=5681

Good luck with your project!
