Hello. My Name is Abbey. My project consisted of burning dog food in a homemade calorimeter. I have conducted my experiment, and now I have some questions. I measured the weight of the pieces of food before and after I burned it, and measured the temp. before and after as well. Now, how do I use those measurements to find the caloric energy of the food?
Thanks !
Abbey. (:

Hello Abbey,
I would start by getting a better understanding of the unit of measure of a calorie (joule) and how it applies to food. You should be able to do a google search to get more information. Hope this helps get you on the right path.

Songbird8,
The answer to your question is in the "Introduction" section of the project description. Specifically, you will find an equation there that you can use to convert your measurements to calorie content.
