Project Question: I am investigating the effect of temperature on glow in the dark objects. I realize you have all the steps written out for me but i do not understand how to connect the jar and the photoresistor and with what? i dont know what extension cable you are referring to

I bought the kit at radioshack like the projects description told me but there is only one photo provided. in one of the steps it guides me to connect the photoresistor to the circuit with an extension cable. i have no clue what the extension cable is. also, i do not know how to connect the jar containing the glowsticks and paint to the photoresistor. it seems fairly straight forward, i just have no idea what to use, and my logbook is due soon but i cannot start data until i do this. please help:(

cassafrass - I assume by extension cord they are referring to a length of two conductor wire (doorbell, lampcord, telephone wire) anything available to you so that the sensor can be located at a short distance from your measuring apparatus. Also, it is assumed in the diagram that you know to complete the circuit with the battery by attaching the -9 volt terminal of the battery to the negative, or common or ground connector of your multimeter. It is left out in the experiment diagram. I added the link in the pdf attached.

I think Rick has provided the help you needed, but just in case his diagram what not clear to you, I have attached another version of the circuit. Note that the voltage shown on the multimeter in this picture is just for illustration; it is not what you will see exactly, just something like you might see.

Note: this is the first time I have tried to include an attachment, it may not work :-(

To get it to display correctly, please change the dowloaded file name to end in .pdf rather than .php
