How does electricity generate movement?

Post by deleted-93165 »

My son is doing a project on electricity and wants to know how it generates movement. Can someone please tell me what I need in order to build an electricity generator that can show how it generates movement?

It's always nice to see parents who are interested in their children's schoolwork. The simplest example of electricity creating motion is an electric motor. There are a number of web sites that have instructions needed to build one. Try http://www.simplemotor.com/ or search for other electric motor kits and / or instructions. Good Luck.
