Not that long ago, researchers believed that the opiates and the cannabinoids (i.e., marijuana) might share the same receptors because of some similarities in their effects. How might you design an incredibly simple experiment to test this idea?
please help!! thanks

Re: help with experiment!
Hi Alsargin,
There is a lot of research that exists on the opioid and cannabinoid systems and their receptors. I would suggest using google scholar to find some scholarly articles that talk about it. I think once you have read some of the background you would get an idea of how they determine which receptors are important for which substances.

Hello Alsargin,
I don't believe there would be a simple way to test your hypothesis. Identifying specific receptors for substances has always been somehow complicated, even for scientists in labs.
If you are interested in receptors and neurology, here is science project that might be related:

I don't know if this helps, let me know if you have any further questions!
