John is absolute right; it would not be possible to do a project on nuclear power because of lack of availability of the materials that would be required and also because of safety concerns. Here are the guidelines for projects involving hazardous chemicals:

However, if you are interested in an energy project, I would encourage you to continue to explore alternative ideas. Here is a list of energy projects from the Science Buddies website that I’m sure will give you an idea for a suitable project.
