Windmill

Post by rbnbady »

I am doing a project for the windmill company. My project name is "Automatic Measurement and Recording system for windmill".
I wanted to know how to measure the voltage and current generated from the windmill . Whether using a sensor or anyother equipment. Please elaborate the answer with full details. I am in desperate need of the information.
THANKS> :) :)

rbnbady - The Science Buddies site charter is to support the science projects of K-12 students. Your application sounds a little more commercial so we can't really support it. I did a very simple Google search on your title "Automatic Measurement and Recording system for windmill" and discovered quite a few resources. This link gives a lot of practical information about measuring power, voltage and current in a poly-phase windmill application. Good luck with your project.

Actually speaking of my project is to built an automated measuring system for the windmill.I am going to measure the following parameters.
1.Voltage output.
2.current output.
3.power output.
4.speed of generator
5.speed of the wind.
After measuring these values am not going to display these parameters , instead am going to periodically store the measured parameters . I am using a pic microcontroller(16F877A).. The controller is compatible with the above all..I am going to fix this module permanently into the windmill's cell...

My question is that how can i reduce the measured parameters so that i can give it to the input of the adc of the controller..

I humbly request you to suggest me an electronic circuit which precisely steps down these values(mainly voltage and current) so that it will not damage the controller....(note that the current rating will be around 100-150A for power=1kw to 3kw and voltage output of 24v...

THANKS
