- Project Question: I would like to base my project on AstroPhysics, I have thought about looking at Cosmology/Cosmic Inflation, but I really have no idea where to go with it, especially since I live where there aren't any labratories, can you help come up with ideas?
- Project Due Date: My Regional Science Fair will be sometime in March, but I am planning on attending National Science Fair for a second year which is in May; I have lots of time but lots to do.
- Project Status: I am just starting
Re: hypothesis
I do not know a whole lot about biology but I do know that you will have to maker your "own" Hypothesis on what will happen, do this by researching on your topic and coming up with an educated guess; it doesn't matter if it is right or wrong.
for controlled variables that would be things like the amount of food/water, temperature, type of biome it is living in, etc
Dependent Variables will be all the variables that depend on the Independent Variables
Also if you don't know what standard deviation is (STDEV) read http://www.mathsisfun.com/data/standard-deviation.html
On the project page it tells to use it, it takes a bit to understand but when you do it will greatly increase the quality of your project.
Good Luck!

Re: hypothesis
Hi Qiraat Aslam -
Part of conducting your science project is identifying your variables and deciding upon your hypothesis for the experiment. The hypothesis is an important step, in fact, in the scientific method.
You can learn more about the hypothesis statement (and review some examples) in this Science Buddies resource:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... esis.shtml
and this one:
https://www.sciencebuddies.org/blog/201 ... thesis.php
Guidance for understanding and identifying your variables is in the Project Guide: https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ndex.shtml
While our Experts will not provide the information for you, if you have questions about the hypothesis you are constructing, or need additional clarification, please post here for input.
Good luck with your science project!
Amy
