My son wants to do a science fair project on the pulley system. Can you guide me how to start and what kind of data can we collect etc.. Please

ChiaraB makes an excellent suggestion above. Another idea for a pulley project can be found at https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... ml#summary, which is appropriate for "beginning scientists," i.e. younger kids in grade school. Intermediate level projects would be suitable for the late grade school to middle school aged kids. It might be helpful to keep in mind these levels when deciding on a project.

We did the experiment with 4 pulleys, but we did not get much data. We would like to expand this little more, can anyone give more ideas for expanding this please..

Ok we continued the experiment with 6 pulleys.. well after 4th pulley, the efficiency decreased, I am thinking it might be due to friction. What could be the other reasons.. are we doing this correctly?
We measured the weight at a static point and also while we are moving the object.. while moving the reading is little higher as it includes friction..Correct?
Can you give some feedback on this please

It makes sense for the efficiency to decrease because of friction. As for the ostensibly changing weight during the movement of the object, I would think about basic physics concepts, like acceleration. I'm reminded of the "elevator" scenario, which you can read about in the following image from HyperPhysics:
