ideas for chemical structure of fuels
Hi im doing a chem project on the chemical structure of different fuels. i need some ideas on what fuels i should choose, which should be at minimum 5. also im having trouble figuring out what i should mention in my report. topics that i have thought about at the structure of fuels, their uses in todays world, their effect on the world and why they are so important. if anyone has any ideas on what else i could include that would be great! thanks in advance!

Re: ideas for chemical structure of fuels
This is a good topic for research. The fuels that are in use are complex (and a mixture of several compounds). You may want to start with the known fuel types (petroleum-based, natural gas, etc.) and see if you can come up with a list of various fuels in use. After that, research into each of them to see what are the main ingredients in each fuel type, which would lead to their chemical structure and formula.
Hope this helps.

Hello chemisnmber1,
Welcome to Science Buddies. Raji has some good ideas for you and is right about doing some research first about the different kinds of fuel. Have you come up with a project yet, or still exploring topics? It sounds like you are still researching topics? Here are some project ideas you might be interested in:

If you have a project idea already, what is your hypothesis? https://www.sciencebuddies.org/science- ... esis.shtml
Also you mentioned needing help on setting up your project, this website has great ideas for all the steps of your project and what to include in each section.

If you have other questions please post again in this thread. Good luck!
