Life Technology,
In our experiment, we are testing why people react to drugs differently than others.
While we research on the PharmGKB website, we were wondering if you you think ABCB1, P2RY12, and CYP2C19 were significant proteins when interacting with clopidogrel. We want to know what the significant ones are to use in our project. We also would like to know if and Life Technology experts knew what the differences are between the normal and mutant amino acids in the ABCB1 and P2RY12 proteins.
Also, just out of curiosity, we'd like to know how drug-drug interactions are used in your jobs in Life Technology!
This is my second time posting this, since I really need this to be answered for my project.

Hi Kevin,
I'm sorry no one has responded to you yet but it is probably because you are asking an extremely specific question to your project. Unfortunately I won't be of much help unless I do the exact same research you did on the website you mentioned. I'm not able to verify what those proteins are unfortunately. Do you have the website address? If you have questions regarding how to present your data or general questions about your project I'm here to help.
It would also help if you list the project you are working on so I can refer back to it and see if I can help in any way.
Hi There,
The instructions in the procedure seem pretty detailed. Is there a particular step you are getting caught up on? In order to answer the specific questions regarding the proteins and their interaction I would need to do all of the research that you have done and unfortunately I do not have the time to do that. But perhaps someone else on this forum does or has done this experiment before and can help.
I took another look, and can help answer you in a general way. The cyp proteins are generally involved in drug metabolism - you can find alot about them (cytochrome P450 complex proteins) in a google search. Also, drug transport is often performed by the ABC transporter proteins - this you can also find out more on google, using terms like "abc transporters". So, yes, I think the proteins you picked will interact with the drug.
Sorry about the delay. We did get alot of posts in a short time and yours was a very interesting and complicated question.
Hi Kevin, I appreciate your patience - we had alot of posts here in a short time. We did comprehend your question - finding the information for you and the time involved were the more challenging parts. I thing the answer I gave on the last post will get you started. Let me know ON THAT POST if otherwise. I am not going to follow this one, ok?
