Yogurt Cultures

Post by deleted-131862 »

Hi Scientists,
Our group is doing the experiment "Yogurt Cultures" and I was wondering how the active cultures in yogurt such as L. Bulgaricus, S. Thermophilus, L. Acidophilus, Bifidus, L. Casei, affect
the human body. What are the benefits or negative effects of Yogurt's active cultures on the human body?

Thanks :D !

Hello,
You should be able to find a good amount of information regarding this topic online. If you searched each one of those yeast strains in google I bet a ton of stuff would come up.

Hope this helps get you started!

Hi there,

Katie has already given you some great advice. Looking for the particular organisms on the internet will give you lots of information.

You can also search the term gut fauna, which refers to the community of microorganisms that live in the gastrointestinal tract (stomach and intestines). The gut fauna can be incredibly important for many different species of animals, especially ones that eat a lot of plants, which are hard to digest.

Good luck with your search. Please post again (in this same thread) if you have more questions.
